About N.E.T.

N.E.T., Neuro Emotional Technique, is a chiropractic technique that was hugely beneficial to me for my spinal problems that manifested in the late ’eighties. N.E.T was one of the motivators that led me to become a therapist, and over the years I have taken a number of trainings in N.E.T.

N.E.T. is a synthesis of acupuncture meridians, chiropractic nerve mapping, homeopathic medicine and the neuro–scientific work of Dr. Candace Pert, who discovered the endorphin receptor in the brain. Later, Dr. Pert’s research indicated that emotions are carried and influenced by proteins (neuropeptides), high concentrations of which are found in the limbic system of the brain. This finding is a major underpinning to N.E.T. philosophy.

If N.E.T. is indicated in the initial assessment it can be extremely helpful to some patients.

Is this for you?

This may be a good fit if you recognize any of the following.

  • You feel inspired in the moment but slip back into old patterns when alone.
  • You act from beliefs you have never really examined, or are not sure you agree with.
  • You grew up in a conflicted household and still carry the confusion.
  • You want a therapist who will meet you on your terms.

How it works

  1. 01

    Get in touch

Send a short note about what brings you here and we can arrange a first session.

  2. 02

    Realizing and analyzing beliefs

Together we map the beliefs behind how you live, and which ones you want to keep.

  3. 03

    Practice between sessions

If it suits you, simple self-interventions carry the work into your week. If not, we simply process your material together.

“People often feel great and inspired during the session, then sink back into old patterns when alone. The work between sessions is the bridge.”
Crispin Kitto

Questions

What happens in the first session?

We talk about what brought you to therapy and what you hope will change. There is no pressure to share more than you are ready to.

Can we meet online?

Yes. Most sessions now take place online by video, at the same rate as in-person therapy. In-person sessions in the garden office remain an option.

Do I have to do exercises between sessions?

No. Some clients find the self-interventions helpful; others prefer to simply process their material in session.

Are there animals at the office?

Yes: doves, finches, chickens and a dog. Let me know if you would prefer to meet without them.
